Seattle Wedding Bursting with Greenery | Billie + Wade

Billie and Wade married where they met! That’s right – they both happen to work for Alaska Airlines. And they both happened to have attended a few of the same events put on at the beautiful Cedarbrook Lodge near Seatac, Washington.  And on August 28th, they tied the knot in the place where it all began. 

It’s all in the details

When we first spoke on the phone, Billie expressed that she wanted to incorporate lots of greenery and let the beautiful scenery of the lodge’s grounds shine. On arrival that day, I was blown away by the elegant woodsy atmosphere that was adorned with gorgeous summer flowers. Even Billie’s cascading hair was full of flowers!

One Big Happy Family

For Billie and Wade, family is everything. Together they have 9 children, and every single one of them had a special place in their ceremony. What an absolute honor it was to see this much love being shared! 

Wade came into their relationship with children he had adopted from Ukraine. And as it turns out, other members of his massive family had also adopted children of their own.

While Billie’s family is small, with only her mom and aunt in attendance, it was so clear to see how the families embraced one another. 

Spare a ring?

Billie and Wade shared tearful vows during their outdoor ceremony…where Wade realized he forgot his ring! Good thing someone could lend a spare. Beyond that slight hiccup, they couldn’t have been blessed with a more beautiful day. Flanked by their children, they swore their union with friends and family looking on.

The Reception of a Lifetime

I had never been to a reception quite like theirs. We started with tons of karaoke and family bingo (which was proudly won by Billie’s son Hunter). Then, a hilarious round of bride and groom facts where Billie and Wade used each others’ shoes to vote. 

After more karaoke, everyone danced the afternoon away. I will truly never get tired of watching people let loose and have the time of their lives! I felt the passion, love, and amazing energy radiate throughout Billie, Wade, and their families the entire evening. 

Zooming into a Honeymoon

Billie and Wade’s wedding was truly one of a kind. It was such an honor to be a part of their magical day…and to catch them scootering away into newlywed bliss.
